Is GameWar Really GamePal?

A couple days ago I got a comment here that Gamepal now owns Gamewar.com. I didn’t think much about it until “Margaret posted a follow up comment directed at me denying the relationship. These comments came within a short time of me getting the Gamepal “cease and desist email. I know Gamepal reads my blog, and I know they are pretty stupid, so I decided to investigate.

By investigate, I mean check the whois for Gamewar.com on Netsol.com. Take a look at the image here, and I think you’ll agree that there is some evidence that Gamepal does in fact own Gamewar.com. If you’re trying to keep this a secret, ole’ Smity may want to opt for the privacy option on domains that even your average webcam girl can figure out.

Here’s another message for you Smity; the more you threaten and insult me, the more you gain my attention. You do not want my attention.

For anyone looking at using Gamewar.com, you may want to check out my experience with Gamepal. You should also check out this Rip Off Report on Gamepal. There also appears to be a Rip Off Report on Gamewar. Be sure you know what you’re doing when you hire the company. They don’t like giving refunds, and they threaten action against those of us who complain.

Update: I am already on page of Google for Gamewar, it only took about 90 minutes!

I’ve posted on here before. Not all my postings have been published. I’m not sure if this one will be.

My question is simply, Why Gamepal? Gamepal isn’t perfect, I know that. They have problems. While some may be the fault of Gamepal personel, you also have to remember that this is a very new industry, ever changing as do the games it involves. Sometimes, for example, accounts can’t be purchased on time b/c of problems with the game websites where you change the email…etc etc.

My question is, if you’re going to pick a MMORPG trading site to slam, why are you picking Gamepal, which is ACTUALLY one of the better ones. I mean, it’s gotta be top 5 in popularity I would think. They can’t be all bad and there MUST be MANY worse sites out there that do this type of thing.

  2. 2 Ed Nov 12th, 2007 at 12:15 am

    Frank,

Gamepal is the company that took my money and then got me banned. I’m not trying to make an example out of them, or singling them out in the industry. I’m just relaying my experiences to warn others of the problems I have encountered.

If you have had problems with other companies in this space, you should share those experiences as well. One of the best things about blogs is that we can all exchange information with each other.

  3. 3 James Nov 13th, 2007 at 11:29 pm

    Greetings Ed,

I really hope I read your blog before I had anything to do with gamepal.com but unfortunately, its too late :(
I purchased an acc with gamepal and later I realized it was a hacked account that was stripped by the hacker. And obviously the acc was nothing as described.

Well the original owner had gotten it back now and I’ve lost what I paid for.

I hope you can help other ppl like me and make other think twice before using the service.

    Take care.

I forgot to mention, when I receive the account info and had questions; I had not once heard back from them. No email replies, nothing. Live help is conveniently offline. So I have given up, and what happened after… was as I mentioned in my previous post :)
Hah life is just full of surprises don’t you think

    James,

Did you try contacting our support, we don’t have any emails as far as we know from you. Contact us, wait for us to respond, and I bet shortly, you will rephrase your statement.

And in respond to Ed’s post.

    Gamewar is Gamepal.

When I email one of them back in October before I made any purchase, they refered me to check out on of the other and their pricings on accounts are different but they carry the SAME accounts, same account description. I still have the email haha.

And I won the jackpot, a stripped hacked account :)

    James,

    What is your order number?

  8. 8 Manager Response Nov 15th, 2007 at 6:35 pm

Also to clarify, gamewar is not OWNED by gamepal. It’s merely an affiliate partner of ours. Likewise for the other 30 brands on the market.

    - Support Team

  9. 9 Ed Nov 15th, 2007 at 6:55 pm

Odd that an “affiliate partner” has a domain that is owned by the owner of Gamepal, and even has a gamepal.com email for registration.

It’s also funny that many of my clicks that come to my site are for the term “gamewar fraud”. Not a good sign.

  10. 10 James Nov 16th, 2007 at 9:27 am

    Well Ed,

Its been 2 days since I emailed and I have yet heard from them LOL! This whole thing is so ridiculous I am unsure if I should be laughing or crying. Pretty sure my little nephew was crying for not being able to play his little taru, its like his little Pokemon.

    Oh, I didn’t type “gamewar fraud” to find this blog, I typed “gamewar review” ^^;

In reply to the Support Team, the order# is 111956. I am not expecting much after reading up on rip-off reports. Just don’t wait till X mas and ruin my holiday mood :)

  11. 11 Manager Response Nov 16th, 2007 at 1:21 pm

    Jason,

Do you want me to post here or email you? Half those ripoffreports are false as Bill (seen below) was fired immediatly starting work for gamepal for poor customer service, so took his revenge by posting blogs with his friend. He posted on this blog as well under the name seisem, gaypal, then made up other names posting stuff about the philippines where he never even worked.

    Greetings,

Jason?! (gasp) I am still, James the last time I checked. :)
Someone from Accounts@Gamewar.com has contacted me today. Name was R. Blake, is that you or from same department?

You can email if you like, its fine.

I am very confused here, my transaction was done through Gamepal and Gpal accounts was the one sent me the stripped/hacked account.

Now this affair is being handled by Gamewars?

    Please enlighten me.

    Regards.

  13. 13 James Nov 16th, 2007 at 2:26 pm

BTW, that email I received arrived hours after I posted the # .

Does that mean I have to come back and post every few hours? I think Ed might ban me from his blog when I do :)

  14. 14 Manager Response Nov 16th, 2007 at 6:22 pm

    James,

Got some interested news on your account, check your email. Basically if things like what happened to your account happen, every monday-wednesday-friday our fraud manager (Jason) and or his assistant Rob reviews your case. We are almost 99% sure that it wasnt the original owner wasn’t the problem, but the only scenario now is that PlayOnline did a reset on your account.

Regardless, just need some information from you and we will contact PlayOnline to resolve this as I just need one piece of information that only you have.

Thanks for contacting us. An operator will be with you shortly…

[Live Chat Team] Hello! My name is Luna, how may I help you?
[Visitor] Can you give me details on when the “System” will be avaliable so we know what yall have done to made4play accounts? I keep getting generic e-mails.

[Live Chat Team] i am sorry here is the latest update live help has on m4p
    [Live Chat Team]

I am sorry, but due to the unexpected demand for m4p/build an account accounts we aren’t able to provide updates on those orders. you receive an email at the beginning of the build, and again when it is done. They are working on a system to get everyone updates on their made4play orders. It’s ‘in the works’ so hopefully we will have news for you soon. At the very least we will email you your toon name so you can follow the progress on the Armory. Please be patient until those emails arrive.

[Visitor] Those copy and paste type e-mails yall are sending are getting me irriated.

[Visitor] We have been patient and we have waited long enough 2 1/2 weeks is getting kinda long don’t you think? Just for a response.
[Visitor] I have made a case with paypal.com and I sent in my report to the BBB.org and some other companys if you can’t resolve these maybe they can.
[Live Chat Team] well actually the accounts can take 30-45 days to build depending on the type of order.. so you can expect that untill the build completes and the time estimate has passed by a minimum of 24 hrs that you will not receive updates.
[Live Chat Team] expecting the team to update you during the build is just not a reasonable opytion at this point.
[Visitor] When I agreed to the build account i was told 2 weeks tops
[Visitor] The thing is I cant see any of the names i chose on the armory
    [Visitor] Not 1
[Live Chat Team] that did not include the time in the que to start the build, I am sorry but you also need to know it takes 14 days from the time an account is created before it will show in the armoury
[Visitor] I have to disagree i have made many accounts and past lvl 10 they do show in armory
[Visitor] I have 2 orders 1 for a gold purchuse that is very late and the build which is very late yall have screwed us over big time.
[Live Chat Team] i am not the currency dept you must speak to them about currency issues.
[Visitor] I’m done with this is there a snior member i can discuss my issue with?
[Live Chat Team] no sir I am the senior live chat rep.
[Visitor] Cuase im about 2 clicks away to going to paypal and escalating this to a claim
[Visitor] If you dont want my buisness let me know then I will go get my money back and move on to someone who does.
[Live Chat Team] Well sir you can feel free to do so, but as we have responded to your request by letting you know of the delays and the lack of ability to update, you will not be eliogible for a refund once the build has started
[Visitor] I havent recived a e-mail that it even has started
[Live Chat Team] I am sorry about that some emails may not have been rec’d re the start of the build due to the system failure during the so calk fires. if that is the case and the build is in progress, you would simply rec email when the build is complete
[Visitor] See thats why im all upset I have had no confirmation from anyone that the build was started nor have I been able to talk to anyone on this issue who can give me details
[Visitor] I just know im down 130 dollars and no answers
[Live Chat Team] sir as we have explained repeatedly updates on m4p accounts are not available. you are free to email the accounts dept and request they review the order and provide you with an update.
[Visitor] I did 5 times and get a generic response
[Live Chat Team] yes sir, that is the information available to them on m4p accounts.
[Live Chat Team] sir, you just need to be patient and wait for delivery.
[Visitor] Lucky yal are a internet buisness in the outside world you would not get away with this.
[Visitor] Need more laws to govern buisness such as this and maybe its time the consumers push for it
[Live Chat Team] Unfortunately, live help is extremely limited in our ability to actually do anything in regards to accounts or account refunds/replacements or GPD. While we sympathize for the aggravation the delays you have experienced have caused, we’re doing the best we can within the scope of our abilities. ”

My convo with Gamepal.com and how dirty these guys are… I think we should push to have them shut down.

  16. 16 James Nov 17th, 2007 at 12:39 pm

    Greetings,

I have forward the info as requested.

Who on earth was the person who claimed to be who he was and knew the content of the account?? Was he the one who reset the account?

The pw/billing with PlayOnline has always been ambitious, is there no way we can secure the account.

    J

  17. 17 Manager Response Nov 17th, 2007 at 4:56 pm

    James,

That is what we are confused about. In my 2 years of working here, I have never seen anything like this. Try contacting PlayOnline, it’s virtually impossible to get the account back unless he had your information. We are still investigating…

  18. 18 Gail Nov 18th, 2007 at 7:34 pm

Wow. I’m really glad I have no need of services like this one. I think what really concerns me is that people like Mr. Simmons seem to think that GamePal (or GameWars?) have the right to treat their customers badly just because they seem to be more popular than others — as if being a big scammer makes you better than a little one . . . Ed, I think I’ve already told you this, but kudos to you for spreading the word!

  19. 19 Christopher Nov 22nd, 2007 at 4:11 pm

30 days later… no response from gamepal.com about my made4Play account.

  20. 20 Chris Nov 22nd, 2007 at 6:52 pm

“I have (1) oustanding order that I need answers too and a reason why you have not taken the appropiate steps to resolve my concern.

    (1)Made4Play account Order #112121

This order is still unresolved and yet to be sent to me. I have sent multiple e-mails and have yet to receive acceptable response to my inquiry or the response had insufficient information. I take this lack of customer care and a failure to live up to your expectations to your customer, This is very serious and I can tell you I am not pleased. If you fail to resolve these issues that are listed above then I will make a claim with paypal.com and discontinue business relations with your company. please understand this is not a threat but a concern from a loyal customer.
Please help to resolve these issues so we both can benefit and noone walks away with a loss.

    Thank You,”

My last e-mail to gamepal.com… 2 days no response. Guess they decided to ignore me for the past 11 e-amils I have written to them trying to get a resonable answer. The funny thing is I ordered the made4Play on the same server as me and I check the /who list for any of the character names i chosen and the funny thing is not 1 ever shows up… explain that gamepal?

3 yrs I have been using this company from FFXI to world to warcraft to me this is a slap in the face.

  21. 21 James Nov 24th, 2007 at 10:46 pm

    Greetings,

I am posting to update my status since Nov 17th.

For the past weeks I had been exchanging emails with GameWar since my last post.

The replies had been informative and very professional compare to what I have received from GamePal.

Although in the end they were unable to get the account back for me, they offered a coupon to redeem an account of the same value last weekend and I had been on a new account since then. Transaction was faster, and clean and I am satisfy with this new account.

Difference is, I made the order through GameWar and the information was sent to me via GameWar. It appeared it was handled personally through the 2 of the Account Reps at GameWar.

One of their emails mentioned they had to move out of CA because of the fire and things should be more settle now.

I can only say for myself that I am willing to believe there are still some trustworthy people working in this GameWar or GamePal “head” branch but perhaps something went wrong lower down and they need to look that up.

Well I’ll keep things posted since its only been a week since I get this “new” account. I just hope nothing funny happens this time…

    Regards,
    J

  22. 22 James Nov 24th, 2007 at 10:50 pm

    To Chris,

Maybe you should try email to accounts@gamewar.com

I received the exact same treatment as you did emailing gamepal, but after switching contacts I been receiving replies in a very reasonable time frame.

  23. 23 WildKid Nov 27th, 2007 at 2:33 am

Really good and really interesting post. I expect (and other readers maybe :)) new useful posts from you!
Good luck and successes in blogging!

  24. 24 Sean Nov 27th, 2007 at 8:17 am

    Ok third time I reply.

Seems you are not only biased toward the people you are blogging about, but you’re also exceedingly selective about what goes up on this board.
If it is in tune with your argument it stays up, if it isn’t its immediately taken down.

Not very sporting of you Ed.

Anyway like my other two posts mentioned…

..You acted outside of Blizzard’s rules and stated guild lines i.e You broke the rules by getting a character power-leveled which resulted in you losing your account, I’m sorry to hear, yet you attempt in every way to apportion all of the blame on Gamepal?

Ed, deal with it. The time and effort you waste on this wrongful witch-hunt could have been put toward leveling another character or spent with your son.

This is the REAL world Ed and you are the guilty party here and as much as I and others dislike what gold farmers do (lets face it we all dislike them) you helped fund them by initially choosing to opt for a power-leveling service in the first place.
So don’t you think it a little childish of you to throw your dummy out of the pram the moment your account is banned? Had your account not been banned you would never have made this post/blog.

Btw, since my previous posts have been deleted I will copy n paste this one to ensure both sides of this very one sided farce of an argument is justified, and thats just what this blog is …a farce!

I have nothing against you Ed, but if you look at what you are doing here, considering what you did, you’d see its wrong.

    Goodluck.

  25. 25 Ed Nov 27th, 2007 at 8:36 am

Sean, I manually approve all comments to my site because I get a crap load of spam. I don’t usually remove comments.

And to clarify for you, I’m not going after Blizzard, I have no problem with them. But Gamepal took my money saying they would level an account, got the account banned, and wouldn’t even refund the money. They clearly didn’t do what they said they would. When I started to look up more info about them, I saw that I was not alone in my issue. So I’m not sure why you think Gamepal/Gamewar isn’t to blame.

As for my wasted time on a witch hunt, this is one of the more popular posts I have written. I have gotten thousands of views from this, and a lot of comments from people having the same problem. All I did was post my experiences, and it looks like I’m helping people stay clear f getting ripped off by that company.

I think what’s great is that you have wasted your time insulting me for wasting my time by writing on my blog. Get a life.

  26. 26 Chris Nov 27th, 2007 at 1:55 pm

I tried accounts@gamewars.com and they haven’t responded to me ether. What other steps can i take? they took $130 dollars and have not even proceeded to try and start my order after its been over a month. They wont even respond to my e-mails anymore after they told me that a manager would contact me which has not happened yet. I wonder if I should report this to the North Carolina district attorneys office and proceed to have this investigated as a fraudulent business.

  27. 27 Chris Nov 27th, 2007 at 1:57 pm

@ Sean Hey highspeed if you encountered what we went through I would think you would be just as angry. So before you preceed to judge anyone here and anywhere learn a little about what you are talking about.

  28. 28 Ed Nov 27th, 2007 at 1:57 pm

Chris, I feel for you. I know how much it sucks to get screwed and then just be ignored. Did you pay through Paypal? How long ago did you pay them?

  29. 29 Chris Nov 27th, 2007 at 5:38 pm

Yah I payed through paypal and have made a claim they still are investigating.

  31. 31 Chris Nov 27th, 2007 at 5:53 pm

oops Ed lol remove my e-mail please didnt mean to post that openly

  32. 32 Jamie Case Nov 28th, 2007 at 4:10 am

    Ed,

I am going to have to agree with sean and your post.

Firstly, I have used gamepal before, no problems with orders with them, actually much better then some of the companies out there, if you want stories google them, it’s pretty bad.

Second, I am not sure if you are hurting the company, much rather helping the company. All these blogs is giving them more publicity, and even negative publicity is good publicity these days. Look at the Paris Hilton video, Napster, or a dozen other companies. Even in this industry, mmoinn negative image made them big, same with peons4hire, and glider. Glider is now one of the most viewed direct third company selling companies in the world today and they dont advertise barely at all. You’re putting a name on there in my opinion. If they file a lawsuit, it gives them more publicity which you don’t want them to have.

Coming to this site, I dont even know what to believe because it seems they care, and others care, and others post garbage which I don’t see being true at all.

This is going to be an interested question for you Ed, but can you name a better RMT company on the internet today? I am very curious, I asked my guild about everyone, and they say hands down them. When I mean RMT company, I mean a real company, not one that is unregistered. (My personal question for future reference) :)

  33. 33 Ed Nov 28th, 2007 at 10:17 am

Jamie, I have to say that I think you’re point is a little out there. I assume you’re referring to the old Napster, in which case no one every complained that they spent money with Napster and didn’t get what they paid for. Napster was a free service, which is why everyone used it. And I don’t see any correlation with Paris Hilton, she is not a product people pay for. Paris is a celebrity with no actual talent, so of course she strives on publicity, mainly negative. For example, I doubt the negative reviews of her CD made them sell faster.

About 15 years ago a small boy died due to e coli from a Jack in the Box hamburger. Do you feel the publicity from that incident generated more sales and a brand lift for the fast food chain? Earlier this year Jet Blue held passengers on a plane for over 11 hours. A short time later they had to cancel dozens of flights, leaving paying passengers stranded. Do you feel the large amount of publicity from these screw-ups helped the airline?

Despite being a nice little saying, “any publicity is good publicity” should not be taken literally. I can tell you by looking at the site stats that few people find this blog post that didn’t search specifically for “Gamepal” or “Gamewar”. And when they do a search for Gamepal and see results like “Gamepal gets accounts banned” and “RipoffReport”, Gamepal is not seeing an increase of sales. And I highly doubt that suing me or RipofReport would result in a better opinion of them.

As for whether or not I know of a better RMT… I don’t even know what that is. I am not a WoW expert. I am just someone who paid a company money, and that company didn’t do what they said. It’s not different than if I brought my car to a shop to have the oil changed, and they not only didn’t put oil in, but not I have no engine. You would think at minimum they wouldn’t charge for the oil they neglected to add, even if they claim the engine is not their fault. Gamepal clearly didn’t level my character to the level they were supposed to. And when I asked for a refund I was ignored.

But if you feel after reading this that you want to use Gamepal, by all means you should. I think the more you use them the better chance that you will be back to this blog to write about your bad experience. Good luck.

  34. 34 Ed Nov 28th, 2007 at 10:24 am

Chris, I removed your email from your comment.

  35. 35 Chris Nov 28th, 2007 at 2:29 pm

Thanks Ed, I’m going for blood on Gamepal.com I am not stopping till things start changing. I’m googling everything ever written about gamepal.. every e-mail sent everything they have said or done to people and created a folder… They wanna play with fire then they might need to get burned.

  36. 36 Chris Nov 28th, 2007 at 4:18 pm

Jamie and Sean or whomever else may be curious, http://www.ripoffreport.com go here and do a search on gamepal or gamepal.com also gamewars and oloot and see the ever increasing complaints.

  37. 37 Chris Nov 28th, 2007 at 7:57 pm

    “Hello,

Thank you for your email. We appreciate your business.
Everyone has bad feedback, google in google fraud, and 10000 posts will come up. Google is not a bad company. Google in any bank, 10000 posts there. As we say in our FAQ, find us another company out there that can seriously guarantee a service because we are the only guaranteed service company in this market.

Bad feedback is tainted, at no point have we ever ripped off anyone. Now I understand your situation, and yes orders are delayed right now, but we do offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee all orders will be completed, but that is only an estimated time, and we can’t predict exactly the time it will be done as different mobs spawn at different times, blizzard patches happen, downtimes will happen, and major delays like this can occur.

If you still feel we are a bad company, that’s fine, but we will refund your order right now if you can close this dispute as it’s pending right now, and we will still level your account up after we refund you, and when we do complete it, we can email you that it’s done, and we will give you a discount on your account order if you still want the account.

Anyway, we’re not trying to give you issues here, but we did already register your account, and we do have a policy where we can’t give a full refund once we register the keys, but we can offer a partial refund. Let us know if you have any additional questions, thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Blake R.
    Accounts Team
    GamePal Inc.”

New this just in from gamepal… interesting.. very interesting..

  38. 38 Mandrel Dec 1st, 2007 at 9:11 am

    @ Chris-
DO NOT CLOSE YOUR DISPUTE. This is a tactic they use to get you to drop the dispute, then not refund you. Once a dispute is dropped, it cannot be reinstated with Paypal.

too late… I dropped claim and they stopped responding to my e-mails im fvcked now.

  40. 40 Chris Dec 1st, 2007 at 11:44 am

No worries I have a folder with all the e-mails of me and gamepal if they fail to act I will be releasing everything I know about this company to the world and it’s about 40+ e-mails. I have a written statement I will release to the media and I will give a copy to the north carolina district attorneys office.

Anyone have links that I contact media? lets get these guys on the map.

  42. 42 Syrous Dec 8th, 2007 at 11:03 am

Earlier this week I decided to purchase an account from Gamepal. Seemed the fastest (well, it doesn’t take 10 days like powerleveling, anyways) and safest (less chance of getting banned!) method. Well, immediately after making the purchase they called and confirmed, then I was told it would take 1-24 hours for my purchase to go through.

Of course, during this time I decide to amuse myself by looking up stuff on Gamepal. I ended up here… (and several other fraud sites). By the end of it all, I was panicked. 10 hours later I had not heard from them, I contacted them again, and got the same response (1-24 hours). After 15 hours I gave up on ever seeing my money again. Considered it a really really stupid mistake.

HOWEVER, 9 hours after that I get a response! From Kristi of their accounts department. She said that they were having difficulty finding the account, and would either A) Offer me a full refund or B) offer me an account up to $xxx amount of money (which came out to be about $55 more than I paid for my account). Of course I poked around the site a bit more, didn’t find anything else I wanted, so I asked for a refund. Sure enough, within 12 hours Paypal emailed me stating I had been refunded my money!

Now, I dunno how things went in the past with these guys, but I think that maybe all this got to em and they turned a new leaf? I can actually say I’m pretty pleased with how that went. Even if I didn’t get my account, I didn’t lose anything either. It could have gone much, much worse.

I just been ripped off by GAMEWAR for about $300,
It was stupid, I wish i had of LOOKED better first, atleast found this site and a couple others before I payed :(
Worst thing is, I was buying a Character for my Son,
was going to be a christmas gift, and thats no joke.
I also play WoW but thought it easier to just buy my son his own character.
I bought a LVL 70 character, they took my money real fast ofcourse, I got Verfied and Everything, I received account details about 3 days later,
I went out bought a game card, activated the account to find the account only had a LVL 4 character on it only,
I immediately contacted them and they told me it must be a mistake, It must have been tranferred, all sorts of excuses, I was told It would be fixed, I would get a character of equal Value or that I would get a Refund and small credit but I had to wait all sorts of crap excuses,
Then I waited a week, no reply, asked again,
got told again I had to wait for accounts to fix it up etc.
waited another week, no reply, ask again get told same thing, this goes on and on for couple weeks,
I get sick of being messed around Ask for refund, again get told accounts has to contact me about this,
another week passes no reply, I ask for refund again same excuse over and over again,
There Live Chat ofcourse says its np of theirs, but when I point out that they were the ones who garenteed delivery within 30mins to 3days, who promised no hassle refund if there was any problems etc. They keep making excuses also saying they have no control,
But no one who does have any control will contact me or do anything about it,
Anyone has any suggestions I would be forever gratefull and in your Debt,
    Thanks ^^

  45. 45 Ed Dec 11th, 2007 at 9:35 am

I feel for you, but I doubt you will get your money back, or the account you paid for. Gamepal seems to like to play the “mistake” angle a lot to eat up time. They know you just want to get your money back, so they tell you they will work on it for a couple days, then they will forget about you. If you keep complaining, a couple weeks later they will apologize and tell you they will work on it again. This is just meant to keep letting time pass.

Obviously you should go through Paypal to open a dispute and try that route. Also, you may want to post your comment on the other posts here about Gamepal, and post to the RipOffReport.

    Good luck.

  46. 46 Someone Dec 11th, 2007 at 10:36 am

    @at chris
    as posted in your post

“but we do offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee all orders will be completed……

and we do have a policy where we can’t give a full refund once we register the keys, but we can offer a partial refund.”

funny they say that when there website says

“100% Satisfaction Guarantee Or Your Money Back”
    on the page of http://www.gamepal.com/central/buildaccount

    little wishy washy to me.

  47. 47 Jason Dec 12th, 2007 at 7:32 am

Kind of sketchy that their “Customer Support Team” has to use this blog as a basis for their support, and not their own website. If the people posting here in public are having such trouble getting their issues resolved, it makes one think about those who don’t have a place to complain.

  48. 48 Chris Dec 12th, 2007 at 6:03 pm

Woot gamepal.com the rip off artist has struck agian! They gave me credit of GamePal dollars and guess what? They say they wont accept them! Hell no!!!! Gamepal.com Meet your worst enemy your gonna hate me from now on till the day I get you shut down…

  49. 49 Chris Dec 13th, 2007 at 6:51 am

    @Me_Again

Gamepal won’t do anything unless you threaten them with action that will get things moving. Sad I know but thats the only method on ever having your issue resolved.

  50. 50 Bradley Dec 14th, 2007 at 9:59 pm

Hey, still GAMEWAR refuse to even speak to me,

I have contacted Paypal AGAIN, and I have sent them MULTIPLE pieces of Evidence that this is a Fraudulent company that rips off MANY, MANY people mainly using Paypal’s Services to do so,
Since paypal claim NOT to do buisness or Support ANY fraudulent company’s it will be interesting to see their response to the evidence I have given them,
I am currently awaiting Paypals response which I shall also post here,
Once again, any and all advice is greatly appreciated,
and a HUGE Thank You to those who have already offered me some help or advice, Its TRULY appreciated. ^_^

  58. 58 Kgrif Jan 3rd, 2008 at 9:31 pm

My sister is a lawyer and i start the process of a lawsuit lol for a little 417 cash which i can make in a day but its more the purpose of this then the money. and evidence i can get from the people to show in court about these wrongful dealing from gamepal or gamewar would be great. please list you evidence here if you would like.

So far i sent the details and the password for the account was wrong so i emailed blake back with the correct one. This was over a day ago. So i resubmitted my info on gamepal and am awaiting to see if all goes through smoothly this time. From reading all this i guess its fingers crossed ^^

  60. 60 Luna Jan 4th, 2008 at 4:11 pm

    Syrous,

You must be one of the lucky people. I purchased an account on Sunday and I still have nothing. No account, No refund, or even a solution. I just get the usual just email account dept from live chat, and from the emails I do get it tells me to wait for an account manager to contact me. 6 days nows! I will update again soon.

  61. 61 Kgrif Jan 5th, 2008 at 7:34 am

TALKED WITH SOMEONE FROM GAMEPAL THIER WORDS WE DONT HAVE THE ACCOUNT AND IF YOU DONT THEN YOU MUSTVE DONE SOMETHING WITH IT SO NO ITS YOUR PROBLEM AND NOT OURS SO ENJOY THE ACCOUNT.

THIS COMPANY FEEDS SO MUCH BS IM ABOUT TO SHOWUP AT THIER NC AND MI OFFICE AND GO POSTAL

  62. 62 Iron_Grahf Jan 5th, 2008 at 8:52 am

    Hello,

I guess you could say I’m a lucky one? I had bought a SWG account for 150$ from Gamepal back in September of 07′ 2 days later when I received the account, everything I ordered was wrong. The account wasn’t stripped or stolen back, but it just wasn’t what I ordered, it actually was a more expensive account, then what I ordered. Still, not what I ordered.

It took countless e-mails to even get 1 lame response. Over a month past and I was FINALLY getting somewhere, and Bam! the order was refunded a few days into October. I’m glad it was, but I still never got compensation for reactivating the wrong account. They promised I would get the compensation, no go. This company is bad news either way you go.

    My order number was 110241

If you are thinking of ordering from this site, do not. You either will be ripped of or extremely disappointed, it’s not worth it. I feel for those who are still fighting these people, it sucks. I hope all of you get your issues resolved soon.

  63. 63 Ryan Jan 6th, 2008 at 12:57 pm

    Ed,

I would like to restore your faith in the MMMORPG service industry. I will offer you the most secure account in the account reselling industry. I will make you an account with your first and last name on it, lvl 70, any class, made on the pvp server of my choosing. guaranteed to completed, no risk to you, about 45-60 days to complete. I will start with no money down, only pay upon completion. $399, for $100 more i will add the 5 piece gladiator armor set for you class and some weapons. Please check out my site for more details.

Back to Gamepal: there was a site called accounts.markeedragon.com, it was gamepal that claimed that that site was an affiliate as well, it looked EXACTLY like gamewar. Gamepal is also known to screw workers out of thier money too.

  64. 64 Luna Jan 7th, 2008 at 5:47 pm

Update: Still no word from any account managers. This is day 9. They got my $350 and they haven’t even offered a solution. Very slow and I bet they are just waiting for me to give up. I’m not!

  65. 65 Alex Jan 16th, 2008 at 2:23 am

gosh this is scaring me… if they scam me im neveer giving up

  66. 66 Charles Woodall Jan 17th, 2008 at 6:23 pm

Well I too have been scammed, basically purchased an account and the description was incorrect of what the account actually was even if it was just one lvl. The cusomter rep told me it was a melee class and it wasnt to boot. My order number (115242). If class action lawsuit is made please include me.

After 7 e-mails, an all day attempt at results, phonecalls, and chats with all the livereps, this is the best I got for honesty.

I wish this person the best, and hope it doesnt endanger his job as he did what was right, good customer service to the extent he was able to provide. Sometimes, the truth is the best thing anyways.

Thanks for contacting sales chat support. An operator will be with you shortly.

If you have a technical issue, please email us only as our chat support is only available to assist for sales and minor technical issues. Major technical support issues can take sometime, so please be as patient as possible.
If you are waiting more then 5 minutes to chat with our american representatives, please remain waiting or contact email support as we currently have a maximum of 50 chats we can accept at a time.

[Live Chat Team] Hello! This is Arianna, how may I help you?
    [Charles Woodall] hello arianna
[Charles Woodall] after reading http://www.ripoff.com reports and the endless bather about fraud regarding all 20 of your sites, I feel I am running out of options here.
[Charles Woodall] the account I was sold was different then the descirption, I just wanted to trade it the 68 orc destroyer account you had, and everyone be happy
[Charles Woodall] but after e-mails sent all day to gamewar and gamepal no one will reply.
[Charles Woodall] tomorrow morning I am reporting it too bbb.org, calling navy fedral credit union (my vias through them) and they will pursue further legal acitons free of charge for me. I will also open a case with paypal, copy paste all the fraud activity.
[Charles Woodall] I have called, e-mailed, and spoke with every livechat rep for your 10 websites trying to reach a resolution beneficial for us both
    [Live Chat Team] Sir
[Charles Woodall] I even found your phone number and called long distance to me…
[Live Chat Team] The people that are responsible of this don’t even have access to the live chat program, so unless I specifically copy and paste this into an email for them, they’re not going to see it.
[Live Chat Team] AND I told you before that that phone number was not correct as it wasn’t even in the correct state.
[Charles Woodall] I just want to be a satifisfied customer, i have purchased form you guys in the past
[Live Chat Team] I understand that.
[Charles Woodall] I called the MI and NC numbers.
[Live Chat Team] And you can go on and on as much as you like, but telling me this isn’t going to change anything because I don’t have the access necessary to do anything.
[Charles Woodall] but at this point livechat just washes their hands clean which means the company is fraudulent
[Live Chat Team] I’m just here to answer general questions about the site.
[Charles Woodall] but that means you deal with this daily yes?
    [Live Chat Team] No.
[Live Chat Team] Live Chat is run by a company completely separate from GamePal.
[Live Chat Team] I don’t have access to their vendor system, I don’t have access to the managers, and I don’t have access to their PayPal.
[Live Chat Team] I’m not “washing my hands” of anything.
[Charles Woodall] oh so you guys dont care then lol
[Live Chat Team] I never got into it in the first place.
[Charles Woodall] so you work for free then?
    [Live Chat Team] No.
    [Charles Woodall] they pay you?
[Live Chat Team] My bosses pay me.
[Charles Woodall] so you work untaxed?
[Live Chat Team] No, I report my taxes.
[Charles Woodall] my point is, you must have a contact, a real live contact who can help me
    [Live Chat Team] Nope.
[Charles Woodall] My job has phone numbers
[Charles Woodall] if you called mclanes with an issue, I would be able to push you uphill
[Live Chat Team] Yeah, and I can call my bosses, but my bosses have the same abilities that I do with regards to GamePal.
[Charles Woodall] so they dont know smithy?
    [Live Chat Team] Smity.
[Charles Woodall] hes the owner correct?
[Charles Woodall] I just want to know who I need to speak to to resolve this issue.
[Charles Woodall] because my e-mails arent being responded too.
[Charles Woodall] no matter which site I send them too.
    [Live Chat Team] Yeah.
[Live Chat Team] And he’s the person you should be talking to.
[Charles Woodall] how can i contact him?
[Live Chat Team] He is one of the people who is supposed to be answering the accounts emails.
[Charles Woodall] so I can repost on the blogs and ripoff.com that you guys are legit, and do indeed pursue to honor your 100% guarantees listed on all your websites.
[Charles Woodall] I am trying to make you guys look better not worse, but we both no disputes must be made in days of purchase with NFCU and Paypal.
[Charles Woodall] I am doing everything in my power here to reach a civil accord
[Charles Woodall] so that everyone is happy
    [Live Chat Team] Honestly?
    [Charles Woodall] yes
[Charles Woodall] all i want is the right account, and to play on my days off
[Live Chat Team] Go ahead and do everything you said you would at the beginning of the conversation.
[Charles Woodall] so in other words, your saying basically, “screw you”
[Live Chat Team] It will probably end up saving you time and I hope to God it would actually make them FIX the problems they’re having right now.
[Live Chat Team] No, I’m nor.
    [Charles Woodall] ohhhh I see
[Charles Woodall] you actually agree with me lol
[Live Chat Team] I’m saying that they’re just plodding along doing the same things every day and they need a wake up call.
[Live Chat Team] Live Chat has been telling them as much for months now, but they’re ignoring us.
[Charles Woodall] my apologies, dont mean to seem so rude, but after countless hours, on my day off, this is all i have done.
[Live Chat Team] I haven’t heard from them in over a month, and my managers haven’t heard from them in over a week.
[Live Chat Team] But as is, I’m still getting paid and I’m still on MY plan to put myself through college and better myself in the long run.
[Charles Woodall] so that means they are knowingly scamming, and just using you guys as a fascade
    [Live Chat Team] No.
[Charles Woodall] yeah I agree with you.
[Live Chat Team] They’re not deliberately scamming people, they’re just understaffed and not doing anything about getting and properly training enough staff to handle the volume of sales they’re handling.
[Charles Woodall] lesson learned tho, guess form now on you check contact info PRIOR to making a purchase to ensure you can talk to a real person lol
[Live Chat Team] Not just a real person, but a real person who can *help.*
    [Charles Woodall] I agree.
[Live Chat Team] A lot of CSR’s are just meant to make nice to the public.
[Live Chat Team] If I could help, I would, but as is I’m just running into a brick wall all day long.
[Live Chat Team] Really, I’m in a dark room running into a brick wall all day.
[Charles Woodall] do you mind if I post our convo on the blogs and ripoff.com, if anyhting I can pursuade people form buying form them to prevnt further issues for others at my own personal loss?
[Live Chat Team] I’d really rather you not as I could get fired. . . I have a very different typing style from the other CSRs.
[Live Chat Team] But I can’t actually stop you from doing what you think is right.
[Charles Woodall] dont want to get you fired, but on other hand I do want results against Mr. Smity
[Live Chat Team] And it’s actually Mr. Smith.
[Charles Woodall] cant say its american owned, then not operate under american standards imo
[Live Chat Team] Smity is just a nickname.
    [Charles Woodall] ohhh lol
[Live Chat Team] It is American owned, they’re just not extremely experienced in real work.
[Charles Woodall] well ty for your time, I will do what you say post this convo after some adjustments, and just file fraud against them, and go ahead and do a reversal of payments with paypal.

I e-mailed Mr. Smith this same convo. Some items were adjusted to protect the livehelp rep. Nothing has been adjusted tho, all reponses are real.

TY everyone, one we are merely dust in the wind, together in efforts we are a hurricane.

    GL!

    Charles Woodall

Dont Trust This Company!!! Gamepal Inc.

Gamepal Inc (www.gamepal.com) opened their RP branch, Gamepal International Corporation (GIC) last August 2006. This is a gaming company wherein their employees get paid to play videogames for customers worldwide.

GIC has 5 board members who has equal share of stocks (1/5 each):
Eric Smith(foreigner) - President (co-owner of Gamepal Inc)
    Lars Lien(foreigner) - Vice-president
    Kristine Rodrigo(filipina) - Board Secretary/HR Manager
    Michelle Marin(filipina) - Board Treasurer/Admin/Payroll Manager
    Daisy Bongais(filipina) - Board Member

They hired roughly 200 people. Now, during the first week of April, the president left for the US. He never returned and never sent the payroll money, thus leaving all the employees without salary for April 30th. The president was in charge of the money/profit since everything has to go through the US branch and the payroll bank account only has enough for half a month of salaries which was paid for the April 15th.

Because of this, the VP immediately announced a temporary suspension of operations due to losses. When the employees threatened to file a case, he also left the country. When the board secretary and treasurer found out about this, they went into hiding and no one was able to reach them. Even the company lawyer couldnt reach them.

The highest remaining officer, the Process Improvement Director, then found a way to force the President to send the April 30th salary. All employees were able to get that. Now, the director decided that the remaining company assets (computer equipment, etc) be sold so that the company can pay for the severance/backpay and salaries of the few remaining employees(who worked may 1-15 to properly facilitate the closure and get the financial records ready).

To do this though, the director needed the signatures of the board secretary and the help of the board treasurer since the GIC wasnt able to pay the building’s rent/bills. And the building will not let them take the equipment out of the office until they were able to pay the bills.

Still, only the remaining board member (daisy) was cooperative but since she wasnt the board sec, they weren’t able to do anything. The two other boardmembers still was very uncooperative and still didn’t attend any meeting with the company lawyer.

They then heard that the employees are going to file a case against them at NLRC/Dole. The board secretary then texted employees saying that the backpay/severance is ready but they just don’t want the director to handle it because they think that he is trying to keep money for himself and that they want to pay the building dues first BEFORE salaries/backpay. (The board treasurer is the broker and is a personal family friend of the building admin)

The director refuted this saying that everything he did in facilitating the closure is well documented and can be attested to by the accountant, assst HR manager, company lawyer and the remaining board member.

Because of this, we, together with that director and the remaining dept managers filed a case at NLRC. Our hearing will be on the last week of june. We have already filed for sevarance/backpay/unpaid salaries/moral damages/attorneys fees.

I’m asking, is there any other case that we can file against these 2 board members? Specially the Admin/Payroll Manager because it was shown i the financial records that she has a lot of unaccounted losses in the company funds. (e.g. no reciepts for 2,000pesos she got for supposed “gas money” without reciepts, etc) Cause those losses have amounted to 300,000 pesos.

There are days I wish I had checked more in-depth into my transactions. Two months ago, I decided that after reading some of the reports / resolutions for Gamepal, that I’d give them a try. With their promise of a 100% money back offer, I figured it would be a simple matter of filing the request and receiving a refund. I clearly didn’t get to sites like these in time.

This is just a note to let ya’ll know that even months later, they still haven’t gotten their act together. I’ve been in contact with the support team, who’s promised to get me in touch with the accounts team, and the trail dies there. I find it amusing that people claiming to be from Gamepal/Gamewar pop on here to “resolve” issues, yet none of them seem to be resolved. Unfortunately, the only way to seemingly get their attention is opening a Paypal dispute. And since that’s the only option, it seems that’s where I’m headed too. Well, that and the BBB considering they are a fraudulent business…

I am in the process dealing with these people at the moment.

I wonder how they get the funding to do all this.

    It’s my main Question.

I only wish i found this blog sooner - to give myself a heads up.

Man, I’m in quite the opposite fix now. After reading all these, I’m very hesitant in selling my account to them. I offered them my lv70 Hunter on WoW and they offered me 133 dollars. I thought, great…awesome…then I read this blog. lol. I bet these guys will simply take my account info, give me their store credit and then refuse to give me real money.

Yeah…I’m in a jam finance wise too >_> I’ll be looking up other sites to sell to then.

I found this site by searching on the phrase “warcraft account complaint”

I wish I had found it a month ago.

I just wanted to mention that sites selling World of Warcraft accounts may be affiliated with GamePal. For example, I bought an account at Newbville.com but the payment via PayPal went to MMO Account Character Services (sales@gamepal.com).Additionally, the web sites for Newbville and GamePal are pretty similar. I won’t recount my experience with Newbville as it would take too long, but I would never advise anyone to buy an account from them. I still do not have the information registered with the account including the email address and the account can be taken back by them or the original owner anytime and I will have nothing to show for it. The account wasn’t as advertised, and their guarantee on their web site is not worth the virtual space it is written on IMHO.

While waiting for replies to my repeated emails I bought an account at MMOBay that I can actually use. I am not advertising for them, and would only suggest that people who really want to buy an account try to find an account somewhere being sold by someone who seems reputable, for example, someone who has been a registered seller on eBay for a long time with a good feeback record.

I hope people thinking about buying a WoW account find this site and read the comments.

I wish I read this about two weeks ago before I bought from Gamewar. It has been 12 days since I ordered a World of Warcraft account from them and I have not heard from them once. Not even an email. I go into “Live Chat” and they tell you to email “accounts@gamewar.com”. You email them and they do not reply, even after 20 emails. I have an open dispute through Paypal right now. DO NOT under any circumstances buy from Gamewar.com. The whole thing is a scam.

I wish I had found this blog before I sold as well. I decided to sell my account to them, and still no money after 2 weeks. I will keep trying though, I am not going to give up.

    Hello all!

Sorry I had been busy working the past few months and didn’t follow up with my posts.

They ended up selling me a hacked ffxi account last year. After posting here they gave me a respond and a coupon for another account of the same value.

The coupon went through and I selected another account. However, the one thing similar to the last time was that all dropable gears and gil listed on description were removed.

And just like the first account, once I followed the procedure by changing pw and info reactivating account. I then realized the described gears and gil were gone once again, so I immediately email them about that. Well… no reply again, just like the last time LOL!!

Since you have to be the one to re-activate the account to see if everything is there, there was no way of ever verifying if it was ever there.

Welp thats my story! Lets just say if you are lucky to get your order through, you can expect anything dropable had been looted and sold!

    Have a good day!

I do not recommend gamepal to anyone. I have bought an account from them and have been sending them emails ect so i can receive my full info on the account for about 4-5 months now. They have not even replied to one of my emails or taken any action. Even though their 24/7 people are very nice.(they are a 3rd part who has no care for gamepal at all just as long as they get paid)
