I am never certain if I should be using an about section to talk about myself, or about the blog. So, I’m going to try to cover both.
About Ed:

I’m 36 years old, and I live in Ashland, OR. I have a son named Michael who is 13 years old. I own a company called Equari. Equari owns a few other companies like eSnacks.com, DotFlowers.com, Blogitive, and USWeb. I also consult with clients on things like semantic web optimization.
As far as personal interests, I work so much that the list is short. I love movies, you can check out my favorite films page here. I also love music. My favorite artists change frequently, but right now I really enjoy Bob Schneider and Jude Cole. I like to read, but I rarely get the chance lately. My favorite fiction writers are Kurt Vonnegut, Nick Hornby and John Irving.
I also enjoy playing poker, but rarely get to play beyond my computer. My favorite cities to visit are Las Vegas, Phoenix and Austin. None of these places are really ideal for summer.
My favorite places to eat are The Blue Bayou and Gene & Jude’s. But, my favorite food is Chinese, and I also love Sushi.
As I have gotten older, I have developed stronger political beliefs. I can bore you with them here.
I obviously spend a lot of time online as well. I am a devout Mac guy and live off my MacBook Pro. If you would like to contact me, you can use the form located on the Contact section of this site.
About the Blog:

The blog was created using WordPress as a platform, and of course on a Mac. I maintain the blog myself, but occasionally I abuse my power at Equari and get Russ and Shaun to help me out.
I’m using a 3-column K2 template with a lot of plug-ins. An artist named Andrei Bouzikov created the header. I think he did an awesome job.
Then of course I have my Flickr photos, YouTube videos, and my Del.icio.us bookmarks integrated into the site.
One thing to note is that this is not my professional blog. You can find that on. Equari. I decided early on to not mix my work and personal blogs. One of the downside to being so active in the online industry is that your name starts to become a brand within itself, and you lose the ability to do personal things online. I like having Flickr and Del.icio.us accounts. I like having a blog for friends and family. One of my favorite blogs is Calcanis.com (Jason is one of my personal blog heroes). But that is really more of a business or industry topic blog. This is my personal site. My postings here are just my (sometimes) not so well thought out ideas on various (sometime) mundane items. I will occasionally vent my frustrations about work, but that’s all it is. Where else can I vent?
